Whether its gossip about celebrities or personal gossip, it seems that the most common topics are health, money and sex. According to studies of people of all ages by social scientists, some of us spend many hours a week talking, texting and e-mailing about the ups and downs of these subjects. Think carefully now and be truthful –
What do you gossip about?

I think my gossip is of the how-is-so-and-so variety.
What I don’t like is hearing what I would consider too-personal information about others — how they’re doing financially, whether they have family problems, who they don’t get along with, and so on.
I’ve been puzzling on why this is so. First, I can’t remember my parents gossiping. Second, I think it’s because I want to relate to people without the encumbrance of others’ opinions, and things that don’t matter to me. Celebrity gossip is of no interest.
